Windows Disk Cleanup removes cached and temporary files from your PC. To run it, select Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup. Or you can start it from a button on the main Properties display for any nonremovable hard drive. Deleting files opens up free space holes on your drive, which Windows fills as new files are created.
