    When using the GEOMAP command in AutoCAD Map 3D or Civil 3D, the Bing Maps are not shown.

    Causes:

    There can be a number of reasons why this can happen, for example:
    • The minimum and maximum Latitude/Longitude settings for Coordinate System are not correct. This means that the Bing images are actually loaded (see the small Bing logo in the lower-right corner of model space) but the data is completely off and outside the limits. Tip: Use MAPTRACKS command to track coordinates using the coordinate system of a specific attached drawing.
    • A problem with the connection to Autodesk Account.
    • Internet connection restrictions such as Firewall or a proxy server blocking the service.
    • If the DWG file is blank and there is no other content in the file, a zoom all or extents will not show the map. This is because the map is not content in the file. Zoom to dedicated point/area inside the coordinates system range/boundary.
    The map is displayed if the view is within the coordinate system range (and if the proxy settings is correctly/firewall settings is OK). This can happen, for example, if the long coordinate notation (8 digits) is being used but the Autodesk coordinate system uses the short notation (6 digits):
    • Convert the drawing to a more appropriate coordinate system and then bring the image in.
    • Change the min/max latitude/longitude:
    1. Open the coordinate system in use and check if the minimum and maximum settings are correct for the location of interest (command MAPCSLIBRARY).
    2. If the settings are not correct, duplicate the coordinate system in order to be able to edit it.
    3. In the duplicated system, adjust the minimum and maximum Latitude/Longitude settings.
